Troubleshooting A MaxxAir MaxxFan Lid That Won't Open

The hood won’t open manually or by the controller, it seems totally locked up. Any ideas? I don’t have a model number. Thank You

If your roof vent lid won't open, even when using the manual lift knob, then the gears of the lift operator are most likely stripped out and the lift operator will need to be replaced.
The Replacement Operator Mechanism # MA10-20281K-1AF is compatible with models 4500K - 4900K, 4700N, and 4900N. Most likely you have one of these models but you can verify by getting up on your roof and lifting the lid by hand and checking the hinge of the lift arms to see if it uses the same lift operator (pictured below).
