Installation Location of CE Smith Post-Style Pontoon Boat Trailer Guide-Ons
Updated 08/10/2013 | Published 08/08/2013 >
Question:
Is there any reason to consider installing two sets of guide ons, back and front on the trailer? I have seen some with two sets and others with only one.

Expert Reply:
The Guide-Ons are designed to make loading a pontoon boat onto a partially submerged trailer easier, and are usually installed on the rear of the trailer. The top portion of the Guide-Ons would be visible above the surface of the water, allowing you to line up the boat with the trailer. Typically the front of the trailer would be visible above the water, so guide-ons would not be needed, but there is no reason you could not install them on the front if you wish.
