Features to know about

Effortless Loading in Challenging Conditions: Bunk-Style Guide-Ons

When you're dealing with wind and waves, keeping your boat centered while loading can be a hassle. CE Smith's Bunk-Style Guide-Ons are a game-changer. These 60-inch long guides help center your boat for easy loading onto your trailer, regardless of weather conditions. The marine-grade carpet covers and pre-galvanized steel construction ensure durability and protection for your boat's finish.

Smooth Towing: Marine-Grade Carpeted Protection

Protect your boat's hull from scratches and damage during loading and transit. The marine-grade carpet that lines the bunk boards acts as a cushion between your boat and the guides, ensuring the finish remains pristine. Additionally, the tilt capacity of the bunk boards adjusts to accommodate different hull sizes, allowing for a more tailored fit to your boat's contours.

Flexible Fit for Various Trailers: Adjustable Mounting Brackets

No more one-size-fits-all frustration! These guide-ons feature adjustable mounting brackets, making them versatile for trailer frames up to 3 inches wide and 4-1/4 inches tall. The included hardware and design allow you to customize the distance between posts to match your boat's width perfectly, providing a snug fit and improved stability during loading and towing.

Corrosion Resistance for Longer Durability: Pre-Galvanized Steel Construction

Whether you're venturing into saltwater or freshwater, the pre-galvanized steel construction of these guide-ons offers a robust defense against corrosion. While the parts are stamped from galvanized sheets, using primer and paint on exposed edges is recommended to extend their lifespan, ensuring they withstand the elements for years to come.

Adaptable to Unique Trailer Configurations: Tailor-Made Adjustments

From pontoon to catamaran trailers, the CE Smith Guide-Ons can be adapted to fit various unique trailer configurations. The adjustable upright posts can be positioned either above or below the trailer frame, allowing for necessary customizations. Optional post extensions make them ideal for larger or more challenging hull designs, ensuring your boat is always centered exactly where it needs to be.

Specs

Quantity and Application

  • Quantity: 2 bunk-style boat guides
  • Application: Trailer frames up to 3" wide x 4-1/4" tall
  • 2 Extra-long U-bolt kits (CE11416; sold separately) are required for mounting on frames up to 3" wide x 5-1/4" tall

Dimensions

  • Bunk board dimensions (each): 60" long x 2" wide x 4" tall
  • Post dimensions: 18" tall x 1-1/2" wide
  • Extends out from boat: Up to 13"

Material

  • Material: Pre-Galvanized Steel

Note

  • Pre-galvanized steel parts are stamped from a sheet of steel after it has already been galvanized. The edges of the pre-galvanized parts often lose their zinc coating during the stamping process. Because of the thinness of the coating less than 1 mil and the fact that the edges remain exposed, pre-galvanized parts can begin to oxidize and rust quickly, so it's recommended that they be primed and painted.

  • How to Order the CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons without Boards
You could piece together the part # CE27600 without the boards if you wanted to. For that you would need the part # CE27609PG for the uprights, # CE11452-A for the mounting brackets, and finally part # CE10206G for the swivel brackets and you would have everything but the boards and carpeting.

  • I Am Looking For 8 Foot Long Bunk-Style Guide Ons For My Boat Trailer
Hey Kenneth, The bunk-style guide on kit # CE27600 have 5 foot long bunk boards in them. The can be adjusted to fit different size trailer frames, but the actual length of the bunk board is not custom. The longest bunk board that we carry is 7 feet long # CE27845, we do not have any that are longer than that. An option you could do if the 7 foot long boards would work is to use the bracket kit # CE27600K90 with the bunk boards # CE27845 to apply to your trailer. If you do in fact need...

  • How Close to the Boat Should the CE Smith Boat Guide Ons CE27600 Be
For bunk style guide-ons such as # CE27600 the bunk board and boat should only barely touch if at all. There isn't a hard and fast rule that says it should be this many inches. But since guide-ons are not meant to support weight like a regular bunk you don't want it so close that the boat could damage the system, but they have to be close enough to help guide the boat on accurately. If it is as rough as it sounds like then I would say maybe 3 inches on each side would work. And if you...

  • Which CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons Work With Tritoon Boat?
I have another option for you, but the CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers - 60" Long - 1 Pair # CE27600 you were looking at are designed for standard boats and not Tritoons. Instead I recommend the CE Smith Bunk Style Guide-Ons for Pontoon Boat Trailers - 24" Long - 1 Pair # CE27671 which were designed specifically for pontoon boats like yours. These get mounted to the trailer frame on the inside of the pontoons and work very similar to the other bunk style guide-ons you...

  • Why Are Pontoon Boat Trailer Guide Ons Smaller than Other Boat Trailer Guide Ons
Due to the nature of pontoon boat trailers and the fact that pontoon guides like the part # CE27671 mount vertically and not horizontally you want shorter guides. Check out the picture I attached for more info.

  • Replacement Upright Bar Bracket for CE Smith Boat Bunks # CE27600

  • Are the Bunk-Style Guide-Ons Compatible with Pontoon Boat Trailer Applications
The CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers part # CE27600 can be used on any trailer but traditionally they are not used on pontoons. Not saying we do not install them on pontoons. As a matter of fact we used the CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers part # CE27660 which is similar to that above on my buddy Shane's pontoon. Check out the linked video. It seems that most folks like a vertical style guide on in this situation. Something like the CE Smith Bunk Style Guide-Ons...

  • Recommended Bunk-Style Guide Ons For Tandem Axle Trailers
I do have an option for you, but there is not a version of the CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27600 you were looking at that is any longer or designed for tandem axle trailers. Instead you will need to go with the CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers - 24" Long - 1 Pair # CE27660 and install it where ever you can in front and behind your fenders. I included a video of the # CE27660 for you to take a look at.

  • 60 Inch or 24 Inch Bunk Guides for Boat Trailer
Since you mentioned wanting the most stability and not always being perfect when loading (understandably), I think the longer, 5 foot (60 inch) CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27600 is the best option as it will give you the most stability and assistance in guiding your boat all the way on your trailer. The 2 foot (24 inch) CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27660 are certainly not something that will be inadequate, but the longer guide-ons are really...

Yes, the CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers - 60" Long - 1 Pair # CE27600 can work on the inside of a pontoon boat. • Bunk Style Guide On Recommendation for Boat Trailer With Tandem Axle Fenders
One solution could be to install one of the bunks of the CE Smith Bunk Guide Ons # CE27660 in front of and behind the fender wells of your trailer since we don't have any longer than 5 feet like the kit part # CE27600.

  • Recommended Guide-On's For a 22' Glacier Bay Catamaran
I recommend going with the CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons # CE27600 along with the Post Extensions # CES77FR. • Distance Between Clamps On CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers
The distance between the clamps is going to depend on where you drill the holes to mount the boards. The bunk board dimensions are 60" long. This product is fully customizable to accommodate various trailer sizes. On the attached installation video, the installer recommends not exceeding the length of the 60 inches and suggests you want a little bit of even sized overhang on both sides of the two upright posts. In the video there is four inches of overhand on each side, which means there...

  • CE Smith Boat Guide On For a Tandem Axle Trailer
The bunk board of the # CE27600 that you referenced is 60 inches long. That may be a bit of a stretch to get to fit around a tandem axle fender but you would need to measure yours first. Between the posts is going to be around 48 inches depending on where you drill the holes to mount the boards. A better option may be to install two sets of the # CE27660 instead. One before and after the fenders.

  • Bunk Style Guide-Ons for Pontoon Boat Trailer
The Bunk Style Guide-Ons # CE27671 are designed specifically for pontoon boats because they're shorter and install vertically. See the picture I've attached. • Should Boat Rest on Bunk Boards or Keel Rollers on Boat Trailer
The majority of the weight of your boat should be supported by the bunk boards or by roller bunks. When the article referenced rollers it did not mean keel rollers. Keel rollers like the # CE10401G can hold the weight of the boat when loading and unloading, and also provide great support for the keel and absorb road shock. However, they should not hold the majority of the weight of your boat on the trailer. In addition to keel rollers you will also want to use bunk boards like the # CE27840...

Then, in order to support both the port and starboard sides you can use part # CE27600. I have attached a photo of a similar setup with bunk boards instead of bunk rollers for the hull. I am not sure I totally understand what you are asking but the CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers part # CE27600 comes with two 5' long bunk boards as well as the brackets needed to attach them. These bunk boards will only require two support posts per side. In order to mount them over your fenders you will need to make sure you have the appropriate space.
