Question:

I’m looking for a swing adapter for a wrangler JLU Sahara. I need to be able to fully open the rear gate to be able to take out a golf cart from the back. I was hoping to use a drivers side swing arm but Kuat seems to be the only one that swings to the drivers side and it is out of stock until the fall. Will any of the other swing arm adapters allow me to fully open the tailgate with the spare tire on it stock setup?

The Yakima BackSwing Swing Away Hitch Extender # Y02483 will allow you to open the rear hatch on your JLU Wrangler Sahara. This will work with cargo carriers or bike racks that use a 2" receiver. Do note that depending on your gear loaded you may not be able to fully open the rear door the 90 degrees but you will have plenty of room to access your golf bag cart. This extender will reduce your Jeep's tongue weight capacity by 50% with a maximum weight capacity of 250lbs.

Another option is the Yakima EXO SwingBase # Y34VR. This will also clear the rear gate on your Wrangler and allows for a variety of accessories. You can mount the Yakima DoubleUp 2 Bike Rack # Y24VR, Yakima GearWarrior Cargo Carrier # Y37VR or Yakima GearLocker Enclosed Cargo Carrier # Y44VR.
