Can you just replace the bulb in the assembly without buying a total replacement?

If you are referring to the tail lights on the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer like part # Y08107 then you must replace the entire assembly using the Replacement 4" LED Tail Light for Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer part # 8880212. The tail lights are LED so there is no bulb, only diodes which can't be replaced.
If you are referring to the marker lights then yes, you can just replace the bulb using the 194 Bulb part # A194B.
