If the grille hooks up directly to a 1 lb propane tank then that means it has a built-in regulator and you can't hook it up to a quick-disconnect port on the side of the trailer as this would run the propane supply through two regulators and the grille would not function properly. Therefore, you'd need to tap into the propane supply at the tank before the regulator using a tee like the part # 103608 for motorhomes or part # CAM59143 for trailers.
