Question:
I am considering the Fan-Tastic roof vent to replace the original vent in our Travel Trailer. It has the original small fan, very noisy. The original fan has a metal housing. I have installed one of the Max Air vent covers over to keep rain out. It works very will. My question is with the Fan-Tastic fan the mounting housing is all plastic. Will it be strong enough to install the air max cover on it? Is there a mounting kit so I can reinstall the Max Air cover? If not , Can the Fan-tastic components be inserted in to the existing metal fan frame?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The plastic housing of the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # FV802250 is very sturdy and would hold up well. I'd recommend using a Fan-Tastic roof vent cover like the # DMC38FR instead though as this was designed specifically for use with the Fan-Tastic roof vents.
This could work with a MaxxAir cover as long as it was intended to be universal in what vents it fits but since I do not know what you have it's harder to say. We can't recommend attempting to insert this vent into housing of your old one.
