Receiving my Dometic Roof Vent Cover was in surprisingly short time. And it looked great. BUT, after trying to install it was too large for my vehicle and would have had to drill holes in the roof. Which I was told my nat'l known tech not to do. So I'll order a cover that will be a bit smaller & hopefully fit.

We bought this cover for a Fan-Tastic Vent we installed for the bedroom of our travel trailer. Key benefits:
1. We can operate the fan in the rain
2. We can operate the fan while driving
3. The dark cover reduces morning light in the bedroom, allowing us to sleep longer
4. The cover protects the fan lid from UV degradation.
Installation was very simple when done at the same time as the fan, but we also installed the white version of this product over the pre-installed bathroom and even that was straightforward.
First of all shipping was fast. When I removed them out of the box they are solid heavy duty Plastic. We just purchased a 2008 Fleetwood Revolution LE 42K and this was one of my first projects. I first coated the original Fan-tastic vent covers with Coasta Coat to refresh it and preserve it. Great stuff for oxidized RV sides also.
I installed all 3 in about 45 minutes. The old sealer was still soft even after 8 years and was easy to cut and remove just enough to expose the front & second 1/4 inch hex head bolts. Using quality roofing sealer I placed it over the cut out and used the longer screws Fan-tastic provided with the kit then a little more sealer to cover the head. It took about 15 minutes for each vent as I have 3 of them. I used a little sealer on the holding pins also to insure they never slide out. Easily removed if needed.
This is my third Motor Home installation. I used another cheaper brand on my other 2005 5th wheel and 2000 Damon MH over the last 8 years. These look fantastic as well as very practical and adds extra security and protection to the original vents. I Highly recommended them for their own vents and etrailer had the best price found.
One concern I had is the vents are on an automatic switch that raises the original vents to about 12 inches high. The Fan-tsatic vents automatically stopped with no problems when they maxed out without damaging the motor or the vent. I had a concern about that as some cheaper ones are lower in height than this one which is made for their vents. I was afraid they would burn or or damage the vent or the motor. No problems.
Our son put it on today for us we love it came with everything we needed even a bug shield got to open my fan lid up all the way with vent cover on now when I use my fan especially when it rains it’s perfect and we can remove the vent lid to clean thank you E Trailer couldn’t take pics it’s on the roof of our jayco eagle trailer

Super great really sucks out the steam mirror doesn’t steam it works awesome even in the winter
Sorry for the delay on my instillation on the Dometic roof vent cover...I have a 2007 Airstream Interstate and when I climbed up to check for installing the cover I realized that to roof rack sat right at the back side of the vent...I was bummed and a beer later I realized I could remove a 2" swath on each side of the cover to slide though the back of the rack...It modified perfect and was installed last Thursday...I have been waiting to download pic's off my phone...check it out...a custom fit and works like a charm...thanks again etrailer...John
Came a day earlier then was expected! Less then an hour after UPS delivered my new rv vent covers, I had both installed! All hardware was included!
Now I can open my vents fully! With old maxxair I could only open my upgrades about 4 inches, now 10 I would guess!
Last project built. Used etrailer for almost all parts including the roof vent cover and so on. Friend wants one now so started another one. I will be getting all the parts from etrailer...

This is a great product that works well .. easy to install and a big benefit to the TV
It fit perfectly. Allows me to run the fans even when we’re in motion or raining. Easy to install
Ordered 3 of these to install on our new motor coach. The kits include all the hardware needed, plus the bug screen, which I did not anticipate. These were installed over Dometic fan covers so no drilling was required. You'll need some roofing sealant, but beyond that everything was in the box. Installation was quick and easy. I probably spent 15 minutes in each to install. Very happy with the results.
I received my Fan- Tastic and bug screen from etrailer very quickly and in excellent condition. I have done the installation & it went great. It was very helpful for me to watch a few how to videos from etrailer & others on the installation procedure. On my Class b camper van this vent cover is just a necessity. You really need a way to vent the coach when it is raining or while cooking. It was a perfect fit for my Fan- Tastic fan. Greatly recommend.

I’ve had this vent cover for about a year and it continues to be a great product. With this, I can leave the Fan-Tastic fan in open but not running and not worry about a rain storm. Makes a big difference in letting hot air escape from the top of the camper.
I have used these to cover a Fantastic Fan on a previous RV that I just recently traded for a newer model. They allow you to keep the vent open during any kind of weather and while traveling. They do prevent the fan's integrated cover from completely opening but only by a small amount. They are easy to install with minimal tools required. The only issue I have is that the two I received arrived slightly scuffed because they were packaged together without any protection between the two or the cardboard packaging. The scuffs will not be noticed once installed.

Its been a year since I purchased and installed these covers. They are working great and allow me to keep my vent open in any kind of weather and while traveling. I wouldnt be without them on my vents.
Fit the trailer just fine thank you
shipping was fast but packing could be better, sleeping area in my RV was to bright so I installed a black vent cover to help with the light, works good, install was easy.

Cover, grill and optional screen fit perfect on each of the three vent fans. The instructions, packed with each cover were easy to follow. The covers were packed in heavy duty boxes and arrived without damage.

Excellent and look great.
Love it! On our 2019 Coachmen Beyond camper van the Fantastic Fan would automatically close if it rained. That was a problem because we need it to stay on to keep the van cool in the rain too. Otherwise a rainy day without access to using the air conditioner when not hooked to electric or generator was miserable. Plus we have two dogs who stay in the van for an hour or two if we go in to a place to eat or shop. With the fan on it stays great all day. If the fan shuts off due to a sprinkle it is not good. Plus we drive with the fan on too at times now. You are not supposed to do that but with the cover it is ok because it protects the from wind damage I think. Recnetly told a fellow van owner about the cover.
Easy to install easy to take off for maintenance fit perfectly for the fantastic fans don't think I'll ever have a problem with these covers

Easy to remove, still in perfect condition.
I accepted this cover as a substitute for the Maxx-Air that was out of stock, because the video made it look easy to install. Both claim you do not have to drill into the roof to install. This is true, but to install this cover, you have to find and remove 4 screws holding the vent fan housing to the roof. Finding these screws was not easy on my Grand Design Image trailer as they used recessed screws which I could not feel through the sealant. I had to remove long strips of sealant to find the screws on one side, which made it easier to find them on the 2nd side. I also removed the sealant that extended out over the roofing so the hold down clips would lie flat.
Customer Service, Product Selection, Communication & Timely Shipping Earned 5 stars. However, I give product packaging 2 stars. Our 3 fantastic vent covers arrived scratched up. They were not wrapped at all. Just placed in the shipping boxes. 2 covers had the mounting hardware zip-tied to each cover and the 3rd cover in the 2nd box was missing the hardware. Notified Customer Service and they shipped out the hardware right away.
These vent covers were very easy to install. I had all 3 done in 45 minutes.
I installed the Dometic U1400 BLS (E-trailer Item #DMC38FR) on a 2023 Tab 400 Travel Trailer. This cover is a perfect fit to the Dometic Fan model 1450. The new model Dometic Fan 1400 has four flanges, two on each side of the fan base. The Dometic cover fits on top of of the four flanges and attaches using only the four 1/4" drive rivets included with the cover. If your fan is an older model without the flanges, you would have to use the other hardware which is also included.
Also, e-trailer includes the separate insect screen which many sellers charge extra for.
This vent cover fit well over my Fan-Tastic Fan. Install was easy and the black color helps provide darkening in our motorhome. Our fan is near the front bunk so it is nice to keep the morning sunshine out if the kids want to sleep in. The quality of the vent covers seems good and it has held up well to the elements for over a year now.
