Question:
I am in-between the e59ZR and the Curt C77FR. What do you recommend?

Expert Reply:
If you are stuck between choosing the Curt - 2" # C77FR or the etrailer Hitch - 2" # e59ZR, I recommend going with the Curt # C77FR. The Curt hitch not only provides you with more overall weight capacity (675 of maximum tongue weight and 4,500 pounds of gross towing weight), it also comes with a superior exterior gloss coating over the base powder coat that will ultimately provide you with more rust and corrosion resistance over the etrailer hitch. As far as the consideration for bumper clearance, the Curt hitch measures about 6 inches from the center of the pinhole to the outside face of your bumper. This measurement is important when considering the shank length of compatible 2-inch accessories.
As with all hitches, I recommend consulting with your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure your vehicle can carry the weight you wish to transport.
