2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 Gap Recommendation for SumoSprings Helper Springs
Updated 05/22/2025 | Published 01/26/2022 >
Question:
How much space do I need between my sumospring and where it touches my truck? Does it need to be in constant contact or is it supposed to have a little gap?

You are looking for a 1/4" to 1/2" gap between the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SS45FR and the contact point on your 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500. This gives you enough space so the springs won't always be engaged, but if they are needed they will engage in an appropriate amount of time.
This kit comes with a 1" spacer so you have the option to use that if the gap is larger than 1/2".
