I am looking to be able to flat tow my 2020 Chevrolet Colorado. What all components do you recommend for my Colorado?

For your 2022 Chevrolet Colorado you will need a base plate. Depending on your Trim there are 2 different base plates that you may need. The ZR2 Bison trim will require a Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM33VR, while all other trims will use the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM37VR.

The Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar w/ LED Lights # RM-676 is one of the best tow bars available. This tow bar is rated for 8,000lbs and has an aluminum construction. It has integrated LED lights in the side of the arms that help you connect or disconnect from your motorhome when it is dark. The RoadMaster Nighthawk All Terrain Towing Combo Kit # RM-9284-2 contains the necessary wiring, as well as locks and storage bags for the components. Depending on the height of your receiver and where the base plate brackets will sit you may need a High-Low Adapter like # RM-048-4 to level out your tow bars. The bars should be within 3" of level from your motorhome to the Colorado.

Your Colorado will require that the battery be disconnected while towing. Unless you have a diesel or dual batteries on your Colorado you can use the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch # RM-766. This will allow you to easily flip a switch to disconnect the battery rather than having to manually undo the cables.

I recommend the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251. This system will install on your Colorado to allow the brakes in your Colorado to stop itself. The main unit sit under the hood so that there is no space lost inside your cab. When you are ready to tow all you have to do is flip a switch and you are ready to go. Since this system uses battery power from your Colorado a Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 will maintain the battery while in tow.
