Question:

I'm looking into possibly installing the etrailer base kit e98945 on my 2021 Ram 1500. It's the Classic version I don't know if that makes a difference or not. Anyways, what other parts do I need to flat tow my pickup? I want to be able to easily setup when I go to tow but I'm going to try to tackle the installation at home so if there is something that doesn't have a super intense installation I'd like to go that route. Thank you!

The etrailer Base Plate Kit # e98945 is an excellent option for your 2021 Ram 1500 Classic. I really like the look of it once installed and it's one of the easier systems when you're talking about connecting/disconnecting the tow bar.

For a tow bar I highly recommend the etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e94ZR because it has that non-binding feature and it has a higher weight capacity at 10,500 lbs so you'll have a nice safety margin between that and what your truck weighs in at so you know the tow bar isn't working as hard.

When it comes to wiring I recommend using the Flexo-Coil Kit # RM-15267. This is a full blown wiring kit that you'll have to splice into your OEM wiring, but it's also the best that we have to offer and I don't ever have to wonder how this is going to hold up.

The brake system that I recommend for your application is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. This is a portable system so you have to set it up each time, but the setup is minimal and the installation is a breeze. You will need to install a 12V Outlet Kit # RM-9332, and I also recommend adding a Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 to the mix so that your battery doesn't die while you're towing your truck.

The last thing I recommend checking out is a high-low adapter. I'm attaching a helpful article and our selection of adapters for you to filter through if you do need one.
