If you want your setup to look clean when you’re not towing, this base plate nails it. The brackets sit farther back than standard designs, so once the drawbars are removed, the front end looks factory. The remaining brackets stay tucked within the grille, protected from scrapes and scuffs. No bulky quick-disconnect crossbar is needed, keeping everything neat and out of sight.
Connecting is straightforward thanks to the twist-lock design. Each arm slides into the bracket, clicks to lock in place, and releases just as easily with the built-in pull ring. Everything you need to mount is included—hardware and clear instructions—so setup is straightforward from start to finish.
Note: Roadmaster direct-connect base plates will only work with Roadmaster tow bars that slide into a trailer hitch, such as the Nighthawk, Sterling, Blackhawk, Blackhawk 2, Falcon, or Falcon 2. These base plates will not work with tow bars that require a hitch ball.

Excellent. Clear instructions and the brackets are holding up great.
It fit and was easy to install
Roadmaster parts were exactly as advertised. I paid for two day shipping and was very happy with the timely manner in which the order was shipped and received. I was emailed as soon as the order was received by etrailer.com and tracking information was current and accurate. Parts were installed in time for our first camping trip in our new motorhome.

Product is good. But the packaging was awful. Looks like the brackets and hardware were removed from the manuf box and thrown into an etrailer box! Scratches and chips on the brackets and the hardware bag was broke open and loose hardware. Fortunately all hardware is accounted for despite hope in box from brackets pushing though box. Not the kind of shipping I’ve come to expect from etrailer.

Received the roadmaster ez5 base plste kit for my 2014 ram tradesman
Puckup. The part# rm-52289-5 was an excellent fit. I had to do a little trimming but 1 hr and they were on. The removable arms are sweet. Wayne went above and beyond.

I like the design and ease of the hook up .
After 7,000 miles of towing a 1500 Ram there is obvious wear in the whole
tow kit .That is with keeping the components clean and using lots of Road Master spray lube. In my opinion that lube does not provide enough cushion .
Received the Base plate kit on the day that etrailer said that it would arrive. Opened up the box and everything was packaged perfectly no scratches.installed the base plate as per the instructions on my 2017 Ram Bighorn. I had it installed in about 1.5 hours by myself. Have not hooked up to the Motorhome yet with the Falcon 2 Hitch no doubt it will work well for us thanks etrailer for a Great product

Installed on a 2016 RAM 1500 Laramie 2WD (have a REMCO driveshaft disconnect so that I can flat tow). Watch the videos as they provide greater detail than the printed instructions that come with the base plates. Recommend using a Dremel type high speed grinder with their flat metal grinding discs as they may quick work of cutting off the tabs and elongating the slot in the frame.
The kit worked and fit as expected. I felt the video was more helpful to me than the instructions. Cutting out the front plate was a little more challenging than I expected. Really, installing this at home, on Jack stands, rather than a lift was my real challenge. But then I am 77 years old.

Just completed a 6000 trip and no problems at all. The truck made it home safely! A bit of rust here and there. The locking pins need a bit of lubricating.
