Is The Block Heater Hole Open Or Closed On A 2016 Ram 1500 3.6L Engine

Question:
Is the cartridge closest already open / exposed form the factory? Allowing for the heater to plug right in Or, is there a bolt / cover that needs to come off of the cartridge closest prior to installing the heater plug?

The hole in your 2016 Ram 1500's engine block should be open from the factory to accept the Kat's Heaters Custom Fit Engine Block Heater - Cartridge Style - 120V - 400 Watts # KH11814. Since the hole is open we do recommend blowing out the hole a bit with some compressed air to ensure it's clean before inserting the block heater. This block heater will pop into the "RR" position of your engine (see diagram below).
