Replacement Base Assembly Cap for Thule Xsporter Pro

Updated 07/31/2026 | Published 12/15/2021

Question:

Are the “black “caps” on the Replacement Base Assembly Cap for Thule Xsporter Pro Adjustable Height Truck Bed Ladder - Qty 1 # 8523168001, the same on the top and bottom? In my photo below, I am pointing to the bottom black plastic piece cap?. It seems that perhaps, I’ll have to buy the entire assembly to get the bottom piece. This is for my 2014 Tacoma, btw. Thank you for your previous reply.

Part number 8523168001 is for the top portion only. I also need the part the person in the picture is pointing at. Although in the picture it looks the same, it attaches in a totally different manner. Happy to send pics if you like. Thanks.

@RayS If you're referring to the silver part, that is the Replacement Base Assembly for Thule Xsporter Pro Ladder Rack - Left Front or Right Rear Assembly Part # TH7521368001. If you're needing just the black plastic knob, that's the Replacement Rack Clamp Knob for Thule Xsporter Pro Ladder Rack Part # 852-3170001.

@ClaireH Hi Claire, No, I'm looking for the black plastic piece on the bottom the finger is pointing too. You carry the top one, Above, you'll see your guy David B tells a customer who is looking for the same part the top and bottom pieces are the same, which they are not. I sent pics in a different inquiry. The top piece is: Replacement Base Assembly Cap for Thule Xsporter Pro Adjustable Height Truck Bed Ladder - Qty 1 # 8523168001. From the outside, the bottom piece looks the same, but attaches in an entirely different manner.

@RayS I went out to the warehouse to check the bottom piece of the assembly, and I see what you mean. The bottom assembly cap tap has a hole for a screw to fit through to secure the clamp knob. I've reached out to Thule to see if they have this available as a replacement part.
