Does Thule Interstate Rooftop Cargo Bag # TH869 Have to Fit Between Crossbars of Roof Rack

I would like to purchase this item for a 2011 Toyota Corolla but am worried there will not be enough room for the bag to sit between rooftop crossbars. Does it need to be between the bars, or can it sit on to of them?

The Thule Interstate Rooftop Cargo Bag # TH869 that you referenced does not need to fit totally between the crossbars of a roof rack. If you check out the picture I attached you'll see that it can attach to a roof rack and set on top of the bars too.
