Question:

A few years back you recommended a hitch and wiring for my old SUV and I never had any issues. Loved it, absolutely loved it. Seriously. Now I need a hitch and wiring for my 2022 VW Atlas and I am trusting you to steer me in the right direction. Thanks etrailer you are the best.

I'm glad to hear you were happy with your last hitch! For your 2022 Volkswagen Atlas I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C24ER. This hitch has a 2" receiver and a concealed cross tube to help maintain a factory look. It has a maximum gross trailer weight of 6,000 lbs and tongue weight of 900 lbs, and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Make sure to consult your owner's manual to see how much your vehicle is capable of towing.

For the most reliable wiring, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118754. The T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring, giving you a 4-way connection at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights.

If you need a ball mount, check out the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. This kit has two ball mounts, one with a 3/4" rise or 2" drop and the other with a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop. It also comes with a 1-7/8" and 2" ball, as well as a ball mount bag to store everything in.
