Question:
I have a 2021 freedom elite Thor and lost my awning. It is covered under insurance and you are sending another one to Pooler, GA camping world. The awning that came off was starting to get mold on it. Is there a product you can suggest that I can treat the new awning with to keep that from occurring is a short period of time?

The best way to prevent your awning from getting mildew or mold is to make sure the awning is clean and dry each time before you fold or roll it up. If your awning is starting to get mildew or mold, you can clean it with a commercial cleaning compound like the Valterra RV Awning Cleaner # V88542.
1. Start by spot testing a small area of your awning to ensure you won't damage the material. Clear away loose debris and dirt and rise the top and bottom of the awning.
2. Coat the area of mildew or mold with the cleaning solution and use a soft brush like the SM Arnold Bi-Level Vehicle Cleaning Brush # 38125-670; let sit for designated time frame listed on back of bottle. Then lightly scrub, careful not use too much force because that can damage your awning.
3. Rinse area with water until all of the mold and solution has been washed away.
4. Let the awning fully dry before you store it.
For future reference you should clean your awning at least twice a year to keep mold from forming and to keep the awning looking the best.
