Is the Replacement Lithium Converter PD4045LICSV Capable of Lead Acid Charging

Question:

I’m trying to determine if PD4045LICSV is capable of both lithium and lead acid, AMG charging. My converter PD4045KA is going bad and looking to replace it and I see forums showing a switch to between LI and LA charge mode on the PD4045LICSV board but I can’t find any documentation validating this. I’m not planning to switch lifepo4 batteries yet and still need to have the ability to charge lead acid, but I’d prefer not to have to buy this component again when I decide to go to lithium. If PD4045LICSV won’t work for my application then I’ll go with the PD4045CSV. Please let me know if you have additional details that may help. Thanks

I reached out to Progressive Dynamics and found that the PD4045LICSV is only capable of charging lithium batteries. In order to be able to charge both lead acid and lithium, you will need the Replacement Converter Section for Progressive Dynamics 4000 Series RV Power Control Center - 45 Amp # PD4045CSV that you mentioned. This has a built in switch that will let you select lead acid or lithium.
