Question:
I have a 2003 Coachman Concord 235SO motor home and would like to add a slide topper. The mounting location for the awning rail where it would attach to the side of the RV is about 1-1/2inch tall. Prior to ordering I would like to know how tall is the mounting rail. Again, this is the extruded aluminum piece that is secured to the RV wall and it serves as the awnings anchor point as the slide topper travels in and out with the slide.

Expert Reply:
The slide topper extrusions, like part # LC715216, measure 1.14" tall which is about 1-1/8". Since your 2003 Concord 235SO already has a railing though, you should be able to just use that as long as it's in good shape. The height of the extrusion will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer but they all use the same dimensions for where the awning inserts into the rail unless you have a specialty awning, then that might change. For your case you will be just fine!
