Question:

I am looking for a fixed 5th wheel hitch for my 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 8' bed with the OEM puck system and am torn between the Curt A25 and the B&W Companion 25K version. Which one do you recommend?

Both the Curt A25 5th Wheel Hitch # C24FR and the B&W Companion 25K 5th Wheel Hitch # BWRVK3715 you were looking at for your 2022 GMC 3500 really represent two of the top of the line fixed 5th wheel hitches currently on the market, and both share a few key design features such as a fully articulating head for a smoother ride and easier time hitching to your trailer, but also dual jaws for a smooth and secure towing experience.

While you really cannot go wrong with either hitch, I do recommend going with B&W Companion for a few key reasons. First is that while the Curt does indeed use a dual jaw design they use thinner interlocking jaws compared to the 1" thick dual jaws of the Companion which we have found to do a better job of securely contacting the king pin thus providing a better, more secure connection.

In addition to this the B&W Companion has a cam-action ratcheting handle to be able to quickly and easily disconnect your trailer even if you are parked on un-even ground.
