Question:
I need a shank with a higher rise than my reese 54970 shank. Can I use this shank with the Reese ball mount that I have? Thanks

The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Shank, # FA92-02-4213, will work with your Reese weight distribution head. This shank and your Reese shank # RP54970 have the same width, bolt hole spacing and diameter.
Typically, we recommend using a shank from the same manufacturer as your weight distribution system because weight distribution manufacturers do not test their products with products from other manufacturers.
For a Reese weight distribution shank with a taller rise, I recommend using the Reese Weight Distribution shank RP3215. This shank has an 11-1/2 inch rise with trunnion bar weight distribution systems and a 10-1/4 inch rise with round bar systems.
To determine the exact rise that you will need, I attached an FAQ article on choosing the correct ball mount for you to review. This FAQ tells how to measure to determine the exact rise or drop you would need in a ball mount.
