As far as fitting your 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan if you have factory crossbars, the Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Matte Black # TH615 will fit if your crossbars measure no larger than 3-5/16 inches wide x 1-1/2 inches tall. In order to make sure that the clamps on the Pulse will fit, I recommend measuring the dimensions of the width and height of your factory crossbars.

As far as being able to fully open the rear hatch on your 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan with the Pulse mounted, you will be able to fully open your rear hatch if you have factory crossbars or raised factory side rails on your vehicle.

If you have raised factory side rails, you will need a crossbar system to mount the Pulse box. For a great crossbar system that will work with the Pulse, I recommend the following parts:
