Hi. Do you have pictures of this hitch fully installed don’t be id4? Does the bumper stick out further since you are putting the hitch behind the bumper?

I have attached 2 pictures of the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver item # DT84GR installed on a 2021 Volkswagen ID4 Pro. The receiver hitch does protrude a couple inches past the bumper trim. The install instructions have been linked and state that you will need to cut a 1" by 6 1/2" to accommodate the receiver and safety chain clips.
I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches item # 989900 and Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236.

I have attached 2 pictures of the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver item # DT84GR installed on a 2021 Volkswagen ID4 Pro. The receiver hitch does protrude a couple inches past the bumper trim. The install instructions have been linked and state that you will need to cut a 1" by 6 1/2" to accommodate the receiver and safety chain clips. I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches item # 989900. This kit includes everything needed to tow a trailer. I also recommend the Tekonsha Upgraded Heavy Duty ModuLite Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness with Installation Kit item # 119190KIT. This will wiring harness connects behind your rear tail lights into the tail light circuit and works with vehicles using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). This harness powers the trailer's stop, turn, tail and running lights directly from your VW's battery.
