Question:
Will the C35FR 7 to 5 or 4 way adapter work on the factory harness?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, the 7-way to 5-way and 4-way Adapter, # C35FR, will work with your 2005 Land Rover LR3 as long as your factory 7-way trailer connector. This adapter was originally designed for certain European vehicles with incandescent tail lights and factory trailer wiring that have bulb out sensors to let you know if one of your tail light bulbs are burned out.
On some European vehicles, the bulb out sensor runs through the factory trailer wiring as well. Since LEDs on trailers use only a fraction of the power that incandescent bulbs use, a trailer with LED lights can trick the vehicle into thinking that a bulb is missing. This adapter has resistors that trick the vehicle into thinking there are incandescent bulbs present on the trailer.
This adapter will work with any US spec 7-way round, blade style trailer connector (see photo) and it will also work with trailers that have LED or incandescent lights.
