Today we're going to review part number C49360. This is the Curt Combo Bar with the 2-inch trailer hitch receiver opening in an unpainted finish. This receiver bar is sized and punched to fit all common weight distributing hitch ball mounts or utility ball mounts, has a welded on forged half-inch collar, provides durability. The tube is crafted with a raw finish so it's ideal for welding. When it's a raw finish it will save you on the prep time when you install this. Again, the receiver opening on this is 2 inches. Take a ruler, 2 inches by 2 inches.

The length on this from end-to-end is right at 36 inches and again it does have a pinhole punched in it. It's 5/8-inch diameter which is your industry standard size. Then the measurement, let me just give you the measurement from the front of the hitch to the center of the hitch pinhole. It's going to be right at 2 1/2 inches. That should do it, a review on part number C49360. This is the Curt Combo Bar with the 2-inch trailer hitch receiver opening in an unpainted finish.Speaker 2: Not bad.

I give the hitch parts a 5 stars solid. I needed a unique solution for my Polaris Ranger. I needed the salt spreader to clear the tailgate. It can hold four 50 pound bags and no sag at all.

What can go wrong with such a simple device? It arrived on time in good condition, handled the welding process with no issues, and took a of coats coats of paint. So far, it has been used twice to haul a 20' sailboat well over two thousand miles and worked fine.
I would definitely recommend this extender to anyone that needed to move their attachment point three or four feet aft.

Very heavy-duty, massive and strong.

Paired with the solid steel ball mount bar of the same size or a bit longer, could mount whatever the vehicle or base hitch are rated for (whichever is less, and less the weight of this etc!)

Not something to let the kids play with, and don't drop it on your toes!

Incredibly well packed, overly so (save some trees guys!)

I am going to use this to modify my front hitch mount cargo carrier for Beach camping. Will only be used to mount accessories while camping. Product is just as described and will do the trick for my modification.

Does the 36 Inch Curt Combo Bar # C49360 have a Weight Capacity Rating
Curt combo bar # C49360 does not have an official weight capacity rating because it is not an extension. They use this bar and others in the manufacturing of their trailer hitches which have a wide range of capacities. If you can tell me the intended purpose/amount of weight I can tell you if the combo bar will be able to handle it or if something else is needed. But if you are looking for a 2 inch hitch extension then the longest that fits a 2 inch hitch and still has decent capacity...

Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2006 Chevy Express 3500 Cutaway Box Truck
You will need to weld to the frame one way or another to have a hitch installed on your box truck. The hitch on the picture you attached is still connected to the frame underneath, it just runs up through that step bumper. If you wanted to attempt to replicate that setup you could take the Curt Combo Bar # C49360 to a custom fabricator and have them design it to fit your truck. The other option is to use a universal hitch like the Curt Class V Universal Weld-on Receiver Hitch # 15902....

Can the Curt Combo Bar C49360 Be Used as an Extender?
The Curt Combo Bar # C49360 is generally used as a weld on receiver for custom applications on trailers, RVs, or service vehicles. I spoke with Curt and they have not tested the # C49360 as an extender, so they couldn't give me any specifications as to capacity as an extender. With that being said, I cannot recommend using it as an extender. The Curt Hitch Extension and Reducer for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches # C45048 may be a better option. Outside Diameter and Wall Thickness of Buyers Products 337RT25836B and Curt C49360 Receiver Tubes
Buyers Products # 337RT25836B and Curt # C49360 are both 36-inch long 2 x 2-inch receiver tubes with a 5/8-inch hitch pin hole diameter. Both have an outside diameter of 2-1/2-inches. I measured the two items' wall thickness with a digital caliper and found the Buyers tube to have a wall thickness of 0.23-inches and the Curt to have a wall thickness of 0.21-inches. The difference between the two is due to the Buyers item having a black powder coat finish while the Curt has no painted finish...

What is the Outer Diameter of the Curt Combo Bar # C49360
I went out to the warehouse and found that the outer diameter of the Curt Combo Bar # C49360 measures 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" so technically it should fit your 2-1/2" receiver. However, this part was designed to be welded and act as a hitch receiver so instead you will want to use the Curt Hitch Extension and Reducer # C45048 which gives you up to a 34" extension and was designed to be used this way.

Hitch Ball for Custom Application on a Komatsu Dozer
Since this is such a custom application, you will most likely need to fabricate something as we don't have a specific adapter. You may be able to put a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball like Curt Chrome Hitch Ball # C40007 in the upper hole of the clevis hitch on your Komatsu Dozer if the pin hole is big enough for the shank of the ball. The hitch ball shank is 1 inch in diameter and is 2-1/4 inches long. The only other suggestion would be to try to weld a combo bar like Curt Combo Bar with 2 Inch...

The Curt Combo Bar with 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver - 36" Long - Unpainted # C49360 has an exact 2" inner diameter as that is standard for 2" receivers to work with 2" accessories and ball mounts, then the outside is about 2.6" (or 2-3/5". We don't offer a 30 inch combo bar, but Curt does offer one that's 36 inches long, part # C49360. You could use a chop saw or angle grinder with a cut-off wheel to cut the bar down to the desired length.

I reached out to my contact at Curt and they can't give you a rating for a custom application like you are referring to because they can't test it and don't know what tools you are using to drill your pin holes, etc. Drilling holes will reduce the integrity of the Curt Hitch Extension and Reducer for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches - 24" to 34" Long, # C45048, we just can't tell by how much. The outer tubing of the Curt part # C49360 is 2-1/2 inches by 2-1/2 inches. This would fit well in a 2-1/2 inch hitch, but this is not the intention of this product so I can't really recommend you use it like that. Instead you would want the part # RP45292 which is designed for use as a hitch extender for a 2-1/2 inch hitch.

Can Curt Raw Finish Receiver Hitch be Drilled
The raw finish Curt receiver hitch, part # C49360, can be drilled with a stainless steel or caride drill bit. You'll probably want to use penetrating oil as well. You didn't say why you're drilling into it but if it's to bolt it on instead of welding it I wouldn't recommend that. Drilling is going to reduce the capacity of the receiver to an unknown amount and could compromise its integrity.
