How Far Behind the Bumper is the Hitch Pin Hole On a 2021 Toyota RAV4 with Curt Hitch

Question:

The attached image is the guidelines for location of the hitch pin and trailer ball from the Rav4 owners manual. How does the Curt hitch pin location match up with this spec? The photos look like the pin location is tucked farther back under the vehicle. The critical measurement is the trailer ball location as this would affect the trailer anti-sway system in the vehicle.

In regards to the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13416 which is a fit for a 2021 Toyota RAV4, the hitch pin hole is about 5" behind the rear bumper. The distance to the hitch ball would be dependent on the length of the ball mount.

I am unsure of the reasoning behind the specific hitch pin hole and ball mount center the owner's manual gives in relation to the rear wheel center but the aftermarket hitches are not designed to conform to these. That said, many others tow and haul with the hitch without issue.
