Recommended Replacement for Factory Hitch with Shallow Pin Depth On 2020 Toyota Highlander

Question:

I recently installed the Toyota 2inch Factory Towing Hitch for my 2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. I do have the Thule Apex 9025 unfortunately the pin hole for the Factory Hitch is less than 1.5inch from the receiver opening to the pin hole. The Thule module says the rack requires 1.5inch from the receiver opening to the pin hole. What would you recommend to solve this issue?

The only real solution to the shallow hitch pin hole depth of the factory hitch is to replace it. Thule is not the only bike rack manufacturer that requires a certain depth, most will be at least 1.5". For replacement, the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e75ZR is what I recommend. This hitch bolts on, has a hidden design, and has a hitch pin hole depth suitable for any bike rack.
