What Keeps the Demco Recon Locked in Place?
Updated 08/17/2021 | Published 08/15/2021 >
Question:
What prevents this hitch adapter from rotating on the gooseneck ball? I’ve been looking at the bandw companion as I already have the bandw gooseneck hitch and that s in place of the ball in a square hole with would prevent the hitch from rotating. Seems like this demco would be relying on the stamped part of the bed to keep from rotating. Thanks.

There is a pin that is installed underneath the ball and then a coupler is tightened to keep the Demco Recon # DM8550045 secure. This may need to be loosened while installing, but will lock everything in place while towing. I included a picture highlighting the location of the coupler bolt for you to check out as well.
As a side note, this is not compatible with rotating pin boxes and should not be used with high-rise gooseneck balls. As long as you do not have either of these, the # DM8550045 will be a very good option.
