Is Trailer Suspension U-Bolt Plate Supposed to Bend and What is Torque Spec for 3/8" U-Bolts

Question:
So, I noticed in the video the spring plate does bend when tightened. How much torque was used? This is normal on the spring plates? They should bend slightly? I freaked out after I noticed my bent. But this is how it should be?

Trailer suspension U-bolt plates can bend, yes, so it doesn't sound like you have anything to worry about. For 3/8 inch nuts on the U-bolts in kit # APUBR-10 they should be torqued between 30 and 50 foot pounds according to Dexter Axle.
