The Dexter Equalizer kit part # K71-448-00 can definitely be used on a 3,500 lb Dexter axle. These aren't normally picked out based on axle capacity instead they are picked out by dimensions. You can compare the dimensions of this to what you have now and you'll know if this would be an easy swap. This is 4 inches tall from the top hole down to the center of the bottom holes and then between the lower holes it measures 6 inches. The shackle strap that's included is 2-1/4 inch which is a very common length.
If your current equalizer dimensions are drastically different this kit can still be used but you might have to move the very front and rear spring hangers or change the length of your leaf springs to compensate.
