Will this work on a Jeep Wrangler with a rear mounted spare tire, or will it require an extension?

From the pin hole to the nearest portion of the Yakima Exo SwingBase # Y34VR measures 5-1/2 inches. Now this is just the swingbase of the # Y82VR which has the more important dimension of 16 inches from it's pin hole to the back of the vertical bracket which would easily fit on a Wrangler and clear the spare.
