Updated 07/25/2021 | Published 07/22/2021

Question:

I have an Extang Solid Fold purchased new in 2014. This vehicle is garage and the top if fully extended 99 of the time. One buckle has sever rust along with the screws. I need to replace all of it INCLUDING the SCREWS. SEE PHOTO. Does the Cab Buckle Kit come with two new screws for installation?? Also Im not even sure new screws will stay in as it may all be rusted out.

First you will need to determine if you have the Extang Solid Fold 1 or 2.0 on your 2014 Ford F-150, as the update occurred right at the same timeframe your F-150 was made. The best way to tell the difference is by the release handles on the tailgate panels. The original Sold Fold has a channel that runs all the way across the rear panel from drivers to passenger side. The Solid Fold 2 does not have a channel that runs across the panel, instead it has a pocket for the rear latch to drop in.

The Replacement Tie-Down # EX1024 is for the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 Hard Tonneau Cover 83415 and it does not include any screws. You should remove your current screws to determine if they will come out without breaking off from the rust. The frame of the cover is made from aircraft grade aluminum and should not rust. You can replace the current screws with stainless steel fasteners from a local hardware store.

If you have the Original Solid Fold on your F-150 you will want the Replacement Female Tie-Down Buckle for Extang SolidFold Tonneau Covers # EX1018. This kit will include replacement screws for the tie down.
