Question:
I have a 2011 ford F350 crew cab 6.75foot box. It currently has the firestone F2597 rear air bags installed. I am seeing a lot of claims stating that you can use the curt C16424-204 with the Firestone air bag setup. However it appears that both the curt 5th wheel brackets and the air bag brackets utilize the oblong hole on on the passenger side of the frame. Nobody has mentioned how you get both kits to utilize that hole without interfering. Thanks

I contacted Curt Manufacturing, they confirm that this is the best kit, the Curt Custom 5th Wheel Installation Kit for Ford, # C16424-204, for your 2011 Ford Super Duty F-350. They were cautious while using the current Firestone # F2597 air bags. However, when discussing with Tech at Firestone they have no exceptions listed for the Firestone # F2597 being used with base rails on the 2011 F350 Super Duty. They have listed as compatible with most base rail kits.
I find no exceptions as to why the # C16424-204 cannot be properly installed on a 2011 Ford F-350 along with the Firestone # F2597. We have not had situation where each of these items have been installed on the same F-350. Although there have been situations of similar items on other vehicles where longer bolts were required to feed through all components set each side of the frame rail.
