How To Remove The Snap Ring On The Bulldog Swivel Jack To Swap Out Mounting Brackets

Question:

I bought the weld on bracket for my trailer jack with wheel. It presently has the bolt on bracket. I cant seem to get the snap on ring off to swap out the brackets. Can you suggest a method for removal please. Thanks

They make snap ring pliers that are used to remove snap rings. It has two pins on the end that stick into the holes of the snap ring and when squeezed it will open up the ring enough to be removed.

You might also try to use 2 regular pliers. With one in each hand, grip each end of the snap ring where the holes are with the pliers and pull it open enough to be removed. Also, if you use a large flat tip screwdriver and try to insert the tip between the split on the snap ring and pry it open enough to start one side of the ring to come off.
