Can etrailer Horizontal E-Tracks e42VR Be Installed By An Amateur?
Question:
Hi: I have a Forest River enclosed cargo trailer. It has square tube construction under the plywood paneling. Do you feel that an amateur can safely install e-track? If so, could you recommend the right type and size screws? -thanks!

You can absolutely install E-Tracks like the etrailer Horizontal E-Track - Black Powder Coated Steel - 2,000 lbs - 94" Long - Qty 4 # e42VR you were looking at in your Forest River Enclosed Cargo Trailer yourself.
Now there are a few things to keep in mind, as no trailer is the same.
The ideal way to install E-Tracks is in a location where you can screw into the frame of the trailer and not just the wood. Using 1/4" x 1" self tapping screws will be perfect for grabbing into the frame, and putting them every 4-6 holes will be just fine.
If you are mounting the E-Tracks on the floor and are unable to hit the frame then you will want to add the etrailer E-Track Backing Plates # E66RR for additional strength.
If at any point you do not feel comfortable completing the install then you will want to have a professional go ahead and finish the install for you.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
