Tips and Tricks for Installing Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs In 2013 Ford Explorer

Question:
2013 Ford Explorer XLT. What is the trick to get the bags through the springs? When jacked up with stands under the side rails with the rear wheels off the ground there isn’t anywhere near enough space to slip the bags through. Does something need to be disconnected to lower the wheels and stretch out the springs more?

When installing the Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs # AL60821 you were looking at in your 2013 Ford Explorer you will need to unbolt the shock and the sway bar link to allow the spring to decompress enough to get the air helper spring in.
In addition to this you will also need to remove the cap from the fill valve on air helper spring and roll it up to remove all of the air, then reinstall the cap to keep it from filling back up. This will make it small enough to fit in between the coils.
I included a link to the written instructions for the # AL60821, and a video review for you to take a look at.
