215/60-8 Tire Comparison and Pricing

Question:
Im looking at the 215/60-8 tire and wheel/rim. I see you have one that is load range C #AM3H320 and one that is load range D #AM3H325. I always thought the higher the load range, the better the tire. So I was leaning towards the AM3H325 but it costs less than the AM3H320. Why would it be cheaper, am I missing something? Any reason why I should go with the lower load rating tire and pay more? Thanks!

Expert Reply:
When you compare two of the same size tires from the same manufacturer like the # AM3H325 Load range D and # AM3H320 in load range C in 215/60-8, both tires are of great quality, but the Load Range D tire has a higher capacity (1164 lb vs 935 for the Load Range C). The load range D tire isn't 'better', it just is constructed for a higher weight rating.
As far as the cost goes, what we price a given product at is dependent on many different parameters, with our cost and the the prevailing market cost being the primary influences on what we charge.
