What is the Actual Load Capacity of Kenda 215/60-8 Trailer Tire/8-Inch Wheel # AM3H325

Question:
Hi there. I see there are bare rims available in the 8 x 7 size but they all are rated about 850-900 pounds. I was going to buy this 215/60-8 tire and rim combo for the load rating of 1,165 pounds, but will my actual limit be the 850-900 pound rating of the rim? My 2 ATVs are approx 800 + pounds each, that is cutting it too close for my liking. I have a 2200 lb torsion axle. Depending on your answer I may just up size a bit to the AM3H390 which has a 1650 lb rim and 1100 lb tire to be safe. Thanks

Thank you for the photo of your utility trailer.
You are correct that if a tire itself and a wheel itself each carry different load ratings the combined wheel-with-tire will have a rating equal to the lower-rated of the two parts. As it happens in the case of the Kenda 215/60-8 Trailer Tire/8-Inch Wheel # AM3H325, both the tire and the wheel share a common maximum load rating of 1165-lbs, so this is the load rating of the combination, part # AM3H325.
Please note that any trailer tire should always be inflated to its maximum psi pressure as indicated on its sidewall. The linked article may be helpful.
