Curt Or etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver For a 2001 Dodge Dakota?
Question:
What is the difference between C13280 and e53AR. I see a small difference in the weight rating but hitches look the same in the pictures. This is for a 2001 dodge dakota 4x4. Thanks, Larry Wallace .

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13280 and etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e53AR are very similar in their design. Both receivers will attach to the same points on your 2001 Dodge Dakota. There are some slight differences in the construction with the Curt having more curved brackets that attach to the side of the frame.
The Curt # C13280 has a tongue weight capacity of 500lbs and 5,000lbs trailer capacity. With a weight distribution hitch the capacity increases to 800lbs of tongue weight and 8,000lbs trailer capacity.
The etrailer # e53AR has a tongue weight capacity of 500lbs and 5,000lbs trailer capacity as well. And with a weight distribution hitch it is 800lbs of tongue weight and 8000lbs trailer capacity.
Be sure to contact your local Dodge dealer for the exact towing capacity for your Dakota.
