I purchased the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 proportional brake controller for my Honda 2017 Pilot. I also have the Honda OEM, 7 point Trailer Hitch harness from the Honda Dealer to install on same day. I see there is a video on installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 brake controller on a 2017 Honda Ridgeline. In looking at this video, will the installation steps be essentially the same as on my 2017 Pilot? Thank you!

Yes installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 in your 2017 Honda Pilot will be the same steps as shown in the video of the 2017 Honda Ridgeline.
Both vehicles use the same Plug-In Adapter # 3070-P to plug in to the factory trailer brake controller port underneath the dash if they have a factory 7-way connector.
Since you are installing your own 7-way connector it is very possible that the factory trailer brake controller port will not be there. If it is not you will need to hardwire the # 90885 using the # 5506 and making the following connections:
Black wire of controller harness extended to positive terminal of battery with 20 amp circuit breaker if trailer has 1-2 braking axles or 30 amp circuit breaker if trailer has 3-4 braking axles. Wire and breakers included in # 5506.
White wire of controller harness to ground
Blue wire of controller harness to brake output wire on your 7-way connector
Red wire of controller harness to cold side of vehicle stop light switch. The wire you are looking for only has power when the brake pedal is pressed. Using circuit tester # PTW2993 will help to find the correct wire.
