2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Hitch Receiver And Hitch Rack Recommendation

Updated 06/13/2021 | Published 06/11/2021

Question:

I will not likely ever tow anything but I will carry two bikes on a bike rack. What hitch and rack do you recommend and what is the total cost installed?

I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2", part # DT92MR, hitch receiver. This hitch receiver has a maximum tongue weight of 350lbs and a maximum tow weight of 3500lbs. I like the Draw-Tite hitch receivers because the cross tubes are concealed.

My hitch bike rack recommendation is the Kuat NV 2.0 Base Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount - Matte Black, part # BA22B. This rack secures your bike via the wheels, so there is no need for bar adapters with this rack. Securing the bike via wheels protects the frame. The rack has a tilt down feature that works whether you are carrying bikes or the rack is empty. When the rack is tilted downward you have access to the rear of your vehicle. It comes with an anti-rattle hitch bolt to eliminate movement between the rack and the hitch receiver. When the rack is in the up position it has a foot pedal to bring it down, this eliminates you having to bend to load your rack. It comes with a lock to secure it to the vehicle and you can lock each bike to the rack.

I have included product description links and video review links below.
