Question:
Are the spring pads welded in the correct position 74inch on Center or shipped loose with the axle?
asked by: Jim C
Expert Reply:
The spring pads are welded onto the underside of the axle at 74" center for the Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes # 35545E-ST-89. The 3,500lb axle has an 89" hub face to hub face measurement and includes 10" brakes with a 5 on 4-1/2" lug pattern.
The Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-384-00 will allow for you to mount the axle under the leaf springs as opposed to on top of them if you are looking for more ground clearance or already have the axle mounted below the springs.
A new Spring Seat # TRSS238 can also be welded onto the axle where it is needed if the 74" measurement is not exactly what you are needing.
