Question:
I have a 2020 Lincoln Navigator , the wiring harness under the dash for the Brake Activator can not be found. However, when I plug in the 7way plug, the brake lights on on the trailer come on, can I assume that the fact that the lights come on that the brake are working ?

On your 2020 Lincoln Navigator the brake OEM brake controller wiring is located in the dash near the center console. It will generally be terminated into the dash panel itself where Lincoln would install the factory brake controller. This should be just to the left of your gear selectors.
The brake lights are on a completely different circuit from the trailer brakes. Your trailer brakes will not work without a brake controller.
You will need the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 22292 to plug into the OEM harness on your Navigator. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195. This customizable brake controller will mount on your dash and is proportional so it will automatically adapt to light or severe braking without driver input. And if you ever have issues with the braking system connections it will help you diagnose the issue.
