Question:

Ordered and returned Thule XPorter. Goal was to have adjustable height to put in garage without removing rack. Issues with Thule rack listed as follows: Would require removal of cargo rail, the supports can’t be extended and due to gas tank it does not allow rack to go fully forward on drivers side front corner. Looking for an option which would give me an adjustable height for garage 7’ door and allow a tonneau cover set up. Yakima appears to be an option, but Retrax does not make an option for the Gladiator. Also plan on attaching Thule SUP carriers to bed rack which I had previously purchased for an SUV. Any options would be helpful . Thank You.

I have a ladder rack that will work for your 2020 Jeep Gladiator with bed cover, but the Yakima ladder rack that you were looking at actually clamps onto the bed rails which would interfere with tonneau covers. I recommend looking at the Adarac Pro Series Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack Matte Black - 500 lbs # A38ZR or # A58ZR for Silver. This ladder rack mounts on top of the bed rails and is compatible with tonneau covers that mount inside the bed rails, including folding covers. The downside is that it is not an adjustable rack and may not suit all of your needs; there is no adjustable ladder rack available that can fit your Gladiator with a tonneau cover installed. The Adarac Pro Series Ladder Rack measures measures 26" from the mounting base to the top of the crossbar and the crossbars themselves are 66" long.

Your Thule SUP carrier will fit the Adarac crossbars as long as they are not T-slot channel mounted, as these square bars do not have the T-slot channel on top.
