Question:

Is the total length of the Wingbars the size that they are? That is is a 127 actually 50inch or is that the usable length and they are actually longer than 50?

On aero crossbars, like the Thule Wingbar, there is typically a T-slot channel which does not extend to the very end of the bar since there is usually an endcap, so the usable length would be slightly less than the entire crossbar. That being said, if they are advertised as 50" crossbars, then the entire length will be 50". The Thule Square Bars 50" Long # TH712300 that you referenced measure 50" end to end.
