Good day. Not knowing much about towing material. I have a friend who has a 2021 Ford F150 4x4 FX4 Platinum. How would I know which base plate to use? RM58VR or RM38VR. I need as soon as possible. Hope to hear from you soon.

The Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms Item # RM58VR is a crossbar-style base plate and the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms Item # RM38VR is a direct-connect style baseplate. This just means there's two different styled connectors where the base plates attach to the tow bar.

Depending on the tow bar you are using you may need to buy an adapter to connect it to the base plates. It's always best to stick with the same brands to avoid buying an adapter. I recommend the Roadmaster BlackHawk 2 All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2" Hitch - 10K Item # RM-422 as it will connect to both crossbar and direct connect base plates and has a weight capacity of 10,000lbs so you'll be able to load your truck with cargo as well.
