Is The Thule 16 Cubic Foot Cargo Box Compatible With My 2015 Subaru Outback With Factory Crossbars?

We are taking a cross country road trip and have been offered a Thule Ascent 1600 cargo carrier to use. Would this be compatible with our Subaru’s stock crossbars?

The Thule Ascent is no longer manufactured so I cannot say if it will fit or not. Compatibility with roof cargo boxes all comes down to crossbar spread. Usually with stock crossbars on your 2015 Subaru Outback most boxes will fit. I'm going to use the Thule Motion XT # TH629506 as an example because it is very similar to the Ascent. The Motion XT needs a crossbar spread at least 23-5/8ths and no more than 36-7/8 inches. This is the measurement between the center of the front crossbar to the center of the rear one.
