I have two cars that Ill be using the rack on - these racks will fit on both. Besides the substantial price difference, what features can distinguish them? The two cars are: 2014 Subaru Outback 2016 Subaru Legacy - The more expensive model has an integrated lock, which could be useful. - Both support bikes of 35lbs each = total of 105lbs. - Only one model lists the weight of the rack, so can you provide both weights to compare? - Thule Gateway Pro 3 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms Item # TH78VR - VS. - - Thule Passage 3 Bike Carrier - Trunk Mount Item # TH911XT Thanks!

Besides the integrated one key system cable lock on the Thule Gateway Pro 3 Bike Rack # TH78VR, another key difference is that the Thule Gateway Pro 3 Bike Rack # TH78VR has ratcheting straps where the bike attaches instead of the fixed hole fittings on the Thule Passage 3 Bike Carrier # TH911XT. The ratcheting straps allow for a more snug, secure fit than the cradles on the Thule Passage 3 Bike Carrier # TH911XT.

With that being said, I recommend the Thule Passage 3 Bike Carrier # TH911XT with the Thule Cable Lock w/ One Key System Lock # TH538XT. This will give you the added security that was a trait of the Thule Gateway Pro 3 Bike Rack # TH78VR.
