What Does Black Wire In Hopkins 7-Way Molded Connector HM20048 Do?

I understand the color code for all the wires coming from the 7-way cord except for the black wire. where does it connect to, and or what other wires connect to the black wire?

The black wire on the Hopkins 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector - 11' Long # HM20048 you were looking at is for the 12v power circuit that typically gets used to trickle charge an on-board battery, or for powering an electric trailer jack.
If you do not have any accessories on your trailer that use the 12v power from the tow vehicle you can just leave the wire taped up or in the junction box un-used.
